We just paid our babysitter for 12 hours. And they were 12 of the most wonderful hours we’ve ever spent. Ric and I were with the Feldman and Sand families for Jennifer and Matt’s wonderful, romantic wedding. We took way too many pictures! I can’t even imagine how long it is going to take to edit them! Everywhere we looked there was love. Jennifer and Matt. Her parents to each other. Her parents to Jennifer. His parents to each other. His parents to Matt. It was a big lovefest!
There were two big highlights for me. 1- when we set up the “meeting” on the huge front staircase at the Westin, Matt had his back to Jennifer as she came halfway down the stairs. He turned around to see her…and didn’t walk towards her…he RAN. I was so touched and had a grin from ear-to-ear. They just a-dore! each other and it was so obvious to everyone around them. 2- Ric and I were married in 1998. We’ve seen a ton of weddings since then. This is the FIRST wedding where they did the same thing we did for our first dance. Jennifer and Matt started dancing to the fun, upbeat song “Signed, Sealed, Delivered…” and then went into their slow song “When a Man Loves a Woman”. (we did the same with “What I Like About You” and then “I Only Have Eyes For You”. In both cases, it completely set the fun tone for the party.
Ahh…the party. We worked for the first time with planner Alyson Pollack, and she really kept things in order! Everything ran so smoothly, and she was right on top of it all. It was great working with her. The flowers from Catherine Walther were so lovely, and made the room just look so elegant. It was our first (hopefully of many) times working with DelBaroni and Band…WOW. They played everything from old to new…and even played “Freebird” to fill many requests. They kept the party hopping until 1am. Amazing band.
But, the best part of the whole evening, Ric and I agreed on as we drove home at 1:30am… was how much the couple adores each other. Those two are going to be married forever. Signed, Sealed and Delivered.
