No, we weren’t at the Grammys (although that would have been so cool!) but we were at what could have been called the “Sammys”. Sam is a 13 year old aspiring filmmaker/director who has done some pretty cool short films. We look forward to saying that we knew him before he wins his Best Director Oscar. But, for now, his Oscar was for Best Performance at a Bar Mitzvah. Sam did great. I loved how his Dad put it “Sam’s performance was Olympic”. I just love that. Both Sam’s parents were so proud of him, and his Mom threw one fantastic Red Carpet celebration for Sam.
The food was fantastic (Ellie at Parsleys.com). She had some extra oreo cheesecake in the back, and Ric and I INHALED a piece. Yum! The cake (see the pic) was unreal. I have never seen anything like it. (www.carynscakes.com). I can’t wait to have a party so I can order one of her pieces of art. It was so detailed and just amazing. A shame to cut it. Denise at Let’s Celebrate did her phenomenal centerpieces that really made the room sparkle. Donna and Paul at Dewitt Smith put together the coolest montage of film clips, and Sam’s movie clips. It was one of our highlights…along with the Oreo Cheesecake!
