We had the pleasure of photographing Will’s Bar Mitzvah this past weekend and can truly say how impressed we were with this 13 year old young man. Apparently, he did a phenomenal job at the synagogue and read his Torah portion just perfectly. But, that is not what impressed us so much. When his parents gave him the option of a huge, funky, full-on dance party with all the bells and whistles, or a trip to Europe…Will picked Door Number Two…the trip! What really blew us away was his reason. Will is a huge WWII buff and has been dreaming of seeing the beach at Normandy…and he is about to get his dream this summer. How cool is that?
They did have a lovely luncheon for their friends and family, complete with a pianist, magician and caricarturist. The Standard Club was the spot, and the food looked absolutely amazing. Will’s family could not have been more lovely and fun and great to work with. We really enjoyed the day.
Usually I comment on this blog about my highlight of the party…however, this time I would have to say that Will’s choice was truly my highlight! (oh yeah, and how tight he hugged his Mom during their photographs…that was up there for me, as well!!)
