We were so excited for Gillian and David’s wedding at the Botanical Gardens. It is such a beautiful setting for a celebration, and this was a sunny (ok, crazy hot) May afternoon without a cloud in the sky. They were such a great couple, making each other smile and laugh from the first minute we met them. We knew that we were in store for a great day. And we were right.
I was especially excited also that we were going to work with some of our favorite wedding industry friends. Christina Zubowicz is an outstanding planner who never misses a single detail, Rodica Lazarian was the alteration goddess who worked on Gillian’s gown and was there on Sunday am to help with the details. Joan Rubenstein did all the gorgeous decor and transformed the room into a deep pink and brown vision. The flowers, the linens…just gorgeous.
Rabbis Heller and Kranz co-officiated, and I loved that the couple had their brothers and dear friend serve as pole holders bringing in the chuppah and holding it during the ceremony. Ok, so it was really hot, but the day was lovely. Their ceremony in the rose garden was just beautiful and warm, and we were thrilled to be there to document it.
The party was a blast, Gillian and David and their parents and siblings were truly celebrating…from hora to mezinke.
I loved that Gillian took off her (very cool!) high heels and traded them for her good ole Adidas slides. The story was that her girlfriends said she’d never meet a great guy if she kept wearing those slides. Well…she did meet a great guy…and wore those very Adidas slides to dance with him on their wedding day!
Mazel tov to you both!
