Thankful.

We¬†just wanted to say thanks to all of the wonderful clients we’ve had the privilege of working with this year. It has truly been our honor to document these milestones and new chapters in your family history. Thank you!

To all the industry vendors we have been so lucky to know–thank you for your professionalism and for making our jobs so pleasant and beautiful. We thank you all for your constant hard work and perfection. We are so fortunate to be able to work with the best of the best. Thank you!

Wishing all of you a beautiful Thanksgiving. Take a moment and remember what YOU are thankful for…

Warmest regards (and now, on to cranberries and stuffing!)

Blakely & Brent

The weather could not have been more perfect–warm and sunny and not a cloud in the sky. Not usually our November Atlanta weather, but perfect for our Chicago couple, Blakely and Brent. Their ceremony was at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, and that is where Brent and his guys arrived in his black limo and Blakely and her girls in a white limo. Very cool touch. Mora Hostetter from Classic Weddings was the planner, and it was fantastic to work with her.

I loved that Blakely’s Dad selected her gown from a bridal magazine…it was beautiful and so sweet that he was so involved. Someone commented that she looked like Grace Kelly…and she DID! Very classy and elegant. Brent’s expression when he saw her walk down the aisle was so loving–that always gets to me. The ceremony started with all four parents lighting the unity candle together. We had never seen that done, and it was very symbolic.

After the ceremony, we headed to Greystone at Piedmont Park to do some fun shots of the bridal party in the Park. Perfect time of day–the sun was just setting and getting ready for the awesome full moon to come out!

Catherine Walther did all the decor–gorgeous roses, hydrangeas and silver candlesticks and vases. The tables looked amazing, perfect for the YUMMY food that Endive catered. When they served us our vendor meals and it was the same meal as the guests–we were happy, happy campers. Also on the tables were the coolest table cards–photos of street signs from Chicago of different places meaningful to the couple. And, in her perfect handwriting, Blakely’s Mom wrote the symbolism on each card.

The music was great, everyone danced until the DJ played the last song–thankfully! not “Last Dance”. If you want to know what song (a very cool last dance song)–just ask.

Brent and Blakely–we had the best time watching you two on the best day of your lives, and want your bridal party to come to every wedding we ever photograph.

Wishing you and your wonderful families SO much love and joy!

Nicole’s Bat Mitzvah

It was so much fun to be one of the first to photog a Bat Mitzvah at the new Buckhead Theater (formerly Roxy) for Nicole’s celebration. The place looked amazing. Right when you approached the theater on Peachtree, you couldn’t miss Nicole’s gorgeous picture (yea, us!) on the Marquee. How cool. She flipped out! I heard her tell her friends about a million times that it was “exactly what she wanted”. What a great way to start a great night.

Helene Popowski hit it out of the park, as usual, and the event was flawless. The decor was really fun and transformed the theater into Nicole’s celebration. Claire at Event Design Group did an amazing job. The food was amazing–catered by Bold American. They really know how to present the food in such a beautiful, delicious way.

DJ Rhythm did his thing and kept the 90ish kids on the dance floor the whole night. (Except for when they were doing their airbrushed hats or green screen pics with Sharon from Button It Up. Nicole was really surprised when she saw that we were transmitting photos live to the big screen behind Rhythm. The kids LOVED that!

The party ended with an awesome dessert table (one of Helene’s trademarks) and the kids were begging for “one more song!!” It was a great night working with awesome vendors and documenting the night with our friend, Donna from Dewitt Smith Video!

Nicole was so lucky to have “exactly what she wanted”, and to share such a special night with her fantastic parents, brother and grandparents. (that is such a gift!) Mazel tov!

Wendy & Mike

Our day with Wendy and Mike was fantastic! The weather could not have been more perfect for their wedding at the Fox Theater, and it was a perfect day start to finish. Wendy got ready at the Georgian Terrace with all her ladies…it was a great crowd. She was also in the presence of one of my favorite ladies, (via an autographed photo/wedding gift), Jennifer Garner. That was pretty cool!

Sharon Fisher from It’s My Party ran the show and, as usual, the event was flawless. Barbara Roos and Christopher Macksey from Event Design Group designed the beautiful decor–the chuppah was one of the prettiest I’ve seen.

The ceremony was warm, the cocktail hour was energetic and the food looked amazing (Dennis Dean catered) and then the guests were ushered into the gorgeous ballroom. The centerpieces and decor were all fall colored and gold and elegant and gorgeous. Mike and Wendy didn’t stop celebrating, smiling and just savoring all the beautiful moments all day. It was a pleasure to watch.

Their first dance was to one of my faves, Can’t Take My Eyes Off You…a classic Four Seasons tune. So romantic. It was our first time working with the band, King Sized, and they were a very cool, smooth band–the guests had a blast. They kept begging for “one more!” after the band was done. Love seeing that.

We loved getting to know Wendy and Mike and their really fun bridal party and families. It was a beautiful day and we wish them all the happiness in the world! (and a phenomenal honeymoon in Hawaii!).
