Brad’s Bar Mitzvah

It was great getting to work with Brad’s family again (we photographed his big brother Jake, who is in college now)!

From what we hear, he did an amazing job at The Temple in the am, and then we met up with them at Ten Pin Alley in Atlantic Station for the celebration. What a cool place! It was our first time shooting there, and we had a ball. There was a nightclub area, an upstairs balcony with pool tables (the adults hung out there), and a bowling alley in the corner with huge TV’s broadcasting football overhead. (and the food was fantastic!)

Brad had a blast with his friends, they danced, ate, bowled and celebrated. It was our first time working with the The Krazy Boyz DJ’s, and the kids barely took a break from the dance floor. J Wilbur from EventScapes did the very cool balloon decor (all sports themed) and Button It Up set up their flip books station. The kids loved it.

It was a great celebration for a really nice young man and a very big Gators fan. We wish Brad and his family many more wonderful family celebrations! Mazel tov!

Avi’s Bar Mitzvah

It was crazy to realize that Avi’s grandfather and my father were high school friends back in NY! As soon as we realized that connection, Avi’s Mom and I realized that we just had to work together. Ric and I trekked up to Clayton to shoot Avi’s celebration at Camp Ramah Darom. And, drove by a cool joint called “Goats on a Roof” on our way. Really.

The Camp was beautiful, and a perfect backdrop to a special milestone for Avi. Our pals from Vibe came up to keep the party moving, Khalil did an amazing job with the crowd. We started with photog’ing the Havdalah service, which is truly one of my favorite parts of Shabbat. As soon as that ended, bring on the Hora!

The party was high energy, there was so much love and celebration and focus on this wonderful milestone in Avi’s life. His little sister, Tali, was a great part of the party–she didn’t stop dancing for a minute.

Early the next morning, we got some great shots around the camp for the family, so they will always remember all the special spots at this very meaningful place. That was after the photo shoot of Avi’s grandfather (I can only imagine he and my Dad stirring up some trouble) racing around the camp in a golfcart, with all 7 grandchildren hanging on for dear life!

Mazel tov–we can’t wait for Tali’s bat mitzvah!

Mike & Wendy

I spent most of my 20’s roaming around the Highlands (oh, did I love it there…). It was so great to be roaming around the Highlands now in my “not-20’s” to shoot Mike and Wendy’s engagement session. It was a blast…and we had such fun with them (and their dog, Charlie).

Can’t wait til the wedding next month at the Fox Theater. If this session was any indication of how much fun the wedding will be–should be a blast.

Tameka & Erick

What a great day at The Ritz-Carlton, Buckhead! We got a bright and early start to photograph such an awesome couple on their wedding day. Tameka and Erick never stopped smiling and laughing during their engagement session, and their wedding day was more of the same.

It was fun hanging out with the girls during hair and make-up, it was one of the most calm and relaxed rooms! Right before Tameka got into her gown (it was gorgeous!), we presented her with a gift from Erick. It was a journal in which he had written something personal and special for her to read on their wedding day. How romantic!

Tameka looked absolutely gorgeous in her gown, and Erick just beamed when he saw her for the first time. They just didn’t stop smiling. (which, by the way, makes a photographer’s job, oh so much fun!) The ceremony was so warm, it was co-officiated by Erick’s father and uncle and was so personal and loving. How amazing to be the person to officiate at your own child’s wedding!

After the ceremony, we trekked around the Ritz for some fun photos, and then onto the reception. Jamal from Vibe (we LOVE him) was the musical entertainment and the dance floor was never empty. The room was so pretty, Catherine Walther did her floral magic and created such a gorgeous backdrop for a special celebration. The cake was all decked out with fleurs, and we’d never seen a cake so decorated! It was beautiful.

Their first dance was to At Last, and it was sung to them by one of their cousins. It made the first dance even more special.

Tameka and Erick, we wish you both as many smiles and laughs as you had today…and a beautiful life together!

Julia & Gary

It is so much fun to see one of our friends and favorite event planners as a Mother of the Bride! We are so excited for Sharon Fisher from It’s My Party, and know that she is over the moon about her daughter, Julia’s engagement. We were thrilled that she wants us to be the photogs for her daughter, and feel very honored by the responsibility!

The couple was in from L.A. and we got to meet them and photograph them at Sharon’s friend’s most beautiful home. The setting was gorgeous, the couple was so in love, and we are so happy for our good friend, Sharon!

Can’t wait til the wedding next year in L.A.!
