Tracy + Marc

I love October in Atlanta! If I had to do it over, I’d get married in October, with this perfect Fall weather. Tracy and Marc did just that last weekend at the amazing Intercontinental Hotel. There was such fun energy in her bridal suite with all of Tracy’s best girls getting ready with her. They all looked beautiful, and Tracy’s Mom blended right in with the bridesmaids–I honestly thought she was one of the girls. Marc’s a-dor-a-ble nieces were the flowergirls and I wanted to take them home with us! One of the most tender moments came when Tracy’s Dad saw her for the first time…it was so emotional for them all, really moving!

Tracy looked so beautiful and just couldn’t WAIT to see her groom. Another of my favorite moments was when they saw each other–such pure joy and excitement from both of them. We just love seeing that reaction on a wedding day, it is so beautiful and sweet.

The ceremony was under the most lovely and elegant chuppah. Chris Macksey and Barbara Roos from Bold American worked their magic and created a dreamy setting. By our side were our pals, Donna and Paul from Dewitt Smith Video–always such a pleasure to work with such wonderful and talented videographers.

You should have seen the ballroom! The dreaminess of the chuppah lead into a dreamy lily filled ballroom–just gorgeous. Tracy and Marc entered the room and started their sweet first dance with radiant smiles. Start to flawless finish, the event was coordinated by Sharon Fisher from It’s My Party. That lady really knows how to plan a perfect event! I think Tracy and Marc spent the entire time on the dance floor. I mean, with US Beat doing their thing, how could they not!? The couple was so incredibly happy, their joy just permeated through the entire room!

They are now down under on an amazing honeymoon adventure. Mazel tov, and g’day Tracy and Marc! We loved getting to know you and your families!

Maja + Mark

We walked into Maja and Mark’s wedding day feeling more like friends than photographers. Immediately, upon meeting them, we felt a great connection with these two fantastic people. So, on this beautiful first day of October, we were ready for a wonderful celebration of “one of life’s loveliest surprises” (as their invitation said).

The ceremony was held at their home and with their closest friends and family there to share the joy. Maja’s niece was the flowergirl who made it her own personal responsibility to put the boutonnieres on the men and to be the assistant to the wedding planner, Laura from Magnolia Events. Laura was fantastic to work with, and had incredible attention to detail. Mark’s son was his best man, and you could see the pride in both their eyes. The ceremony was warm and lovely and Maja looked just beautiful. They were both just beaming at each other and their adoration was evident to all of us!

After the ceremony, the party began. A jazz band started doing their funky jazzy thing outdoors near the pool (and to the man who requested Lionel Richie…uh, I don’t know what to say…). Endive created the MOST incredible variety of special food, and each dish was more visually beautiful and delicious than the next. Amazing. Each food area had a shout out to either Maja’s Egyptian heritage, or one of the couple’s favorite spots (Morocco, Italy…). The decor was GORGEOUS. Great colors and flowers/candles galore. Arrangements by Catherine did an incredible job creating the atmosphere.

After dinner, the couple did their “not first dance, first dance”, and it was a tango! Maja was a professional dancer, and she guided her sweet Mark through a really well-performed dance. It was so romantic and personal. And that kicked off Part II of the night…the jazz band was replaced with a DJ (Dana from Spectrum) who kept the party going and dancing under a beautiful crescent moon!

The night ended with a “settler”, a traditional chicken soup to relax you and get you ready for the rest of the after-party. Yum. As we were leaving, I told Mark that he was one lucky man. His response…DUH!

Maja and Mark, we wish you both so much love and joy on this beautiful journey you are taking together. Congratulations!!

Arden + Lee

It couldn’t have been a more beautiful day to have a celebration at the Botanical Gardens…blue sky, slight breeze–picture perfect weather! Arden and Lee started their day at P’tree Presbyterian Church and they were both so excited to see each other. As soon as they had their first sight of each other, you could see the nerves lift away. They were so happy!

After the service, we headed to the Botanical Gardens for some great shots of the couple and then a rip-roaring party with a band that (although they wore cowboys hats) played everything from Country to The Cure. Karen Segal from Your Party by Karen was the planner, and she was fantastic to work with! The event was flawless–and the couple was smiling from start to finish! J Patrick Designs did the decor…and created a beautiful celebration room with candles, crystals and pretty, pretty flowers. The food was presented so beautifully by Affairs to Remember, and it looked amazing!

It was such a great night, ending with an almost full moon that you could see right over the Chihuly Sculpture outside of the party. Beautiful. Lee and Arden escaped into their limo in a tunnel of bubbles…a great send off to their honeymoon! I’m sure they are having a blast in Mexico right now!!! Congratulations!

Emily + Drew

It is always fun to get out of the city and shoot somewhere different! We loved driving by all the water and beauty of Lake Lanier to shoot Emily and Drew’s Lakeside nuptials at Lake Lanier’s Legacy Pointe. Emily and her girls all got dressed in the quaint little bride’s room near the venue, it was like a mini sorority house! She looked just beautiful! I loved that she carried her late grandmother’s handkerchief and ring. Those are the touches that make a wedding ceremony so sweet and personal.

It was a little challenging finding a spot that was not too windy for pictures, but we did, and it was beautiful with Emily’s gown and veil blowing in the wind. Really a gorgeous spot. After the ceremony (complete with a speedboat zooming by the alter), we took the new Mr. and Mrs. via golfcart to a gorgeous spot where we got phenomenal sunset shots of them. That was truly a highlight!

The party was a ball. American Flyers was the band (our first time with them–they were excellent) and the crowd was ready to celebrate. The night ended with a final dance with bubbles. And, because of the heat, the fans around the dance floor made quite the spectacular bubble display!

Hope Emily and Drew are having a blast in Mexico–and not reading this on their laptop…but just having a phenomenal trip and a wonderful beginning to their marriage! Congrats!

Kristin + Eric

What a wonderful day at the Georgian Terrace! Kristin and Eric are one of the most loving couples we’ve met over the years, they were truly meant to be together, and it is clear to anyone who meets them.

It was so much fun being with Kristin in her bridal suite with all her girls–it was really a fun and energetic room. Kristin looked just beautiful, and was beaming. Someone should figure out how to bottle the joy a bride feels on her wedding day…really!

The ceremony was warm and loving, although it started with one of the sweet little flowergirls having a mini meltdown and not walking down the aisle. Instead of a unity candle, they poured different colored sand in a vase…such a beautiful way to symbolize their connection.

After the ceremony, the party started and it was quite a festive celebration. Kristin and Eric’s first dance was one of the most romantic we’ve seen. They were so focused on each other, I don’t think they even knew anyone else was in the room. They just adore each other! I loved the groom’s cake and garter shout outs to Eric who is a Cobb County Police Officer. The garter was even made with fabric from his uniform.

After a fun party, lots of dancing and a delicious wedding cake–they exited through a tunnel of bubbles leading to a beautiful white Rolls Royce. Wishing you both a lifetime of all the love and joy you felt on your wedding day! Congrats!!
